چکیده
Keggin H3PW12O40 (PW12) and Wells-Dawson H6P2W18O60 (P2W18) heteropolyacids (HPAs) are photo(catalysts) for various acid-promoted redox catalytic reactions. Their activity increases if they deposited on certain supports as metal oxides or carbon materials. Although the surface area acid-base interactions of HPAs with considered key factors performance binary material, role local structure changes in upon their immobilization solids must be also primary importance, directly affecting both acidity photoredox properties. Here, (photo)catalytic heteropolytungstates supported boron nitride (BN) two types (C3N4) gas-solid 2-propanol dehydration to propene has been studied. Apart from characterizing materials by a set conventional laboratory-scale structural physical-chemical techniques, an insight into variations is provided means X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), influence discussed. The irradiation UV light increased respect experiments. apparent activation energy calculated photo-assisted process resulted always lower that obtained one alone. Moreover, showed highest turnover frequency (TOF) were those which impregnated graphitic C3N4 BN and, particular, TOF values observed at temperature PW12/BN P2W18/BN samples. Interestingly, seems due stabilization W octahedral coordination, according XAS data.

Nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones
In this letter we extend previously established results for nested carbon nanocones to both nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones. Based purely on mechanical principles and classical mathematical modelling techniques, we determine the energetically favourable structures for nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones. While only three apex angles for boron nitride ...

Catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted hydration of propene to form 2-propanol in gas-solid regime at atmospheric pressure and 85 °C were carried out by using a heteropolyacid (POM) supported on different oxides. Binary materials were prepared by impregnation of H3PW12O40 on different commercial and home prepared supports (TiO2, SiO2, WO3, ZrO2, ZnO, Al2O3). Some of the composites were active b...

The controlled synthesis and growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has been a long standing challenge in the fabrication of carbon based materials for electronic applications. Due to the sensitivity to small changes in their structure, the successful integration of CNTs on electronic devices is conditioned to the preservation of the graphitic network of single and multiwalled nanotubes from externa...
متن کاملGrowth of Carbon, Boron Nitride and ZnO Nanotubes for Biosensors
Nanotubes have significant portions of their atoms located at the surfaces and represent the future of biological devices. With such small dimensions, sensitivities and applications previously impossible are being made real. Not all nanomaterials are currently at the same level of proficiency, however. Carbon nanotubes are a mature, easily grown and controlled nanostructure, but boron nitride a...
